Hello and welcome to my site.

Picture
I have been in business now for 10 years as Randy Colosky Design and what you are looking at is a sample of some of the jobs I have done. My history as a carpenter and fabricator goes all the way back to my father who was a carpenter and contractor. At a very young age, I was handed a hammer and handsaw and taught mostly, by the school of trial and error, how to build things. I was around my father's construction sites a lot while growing up in New Jersey and became familiar with the basic ideas of how to make things. From there, I went on to go to college for ceramics and fine art, which I gravitated toward as a teenager. I have always been attracted to process, craft and design. Before I started my own business as RCD, I spent about 10 years working in the film business, employed as a set builder, scenic artist and art director. This is where I learned to work with a variety of materials, as well as how to manage jobs in a very demanding profession.

Durning my time in business as RCD, I have had the opportunity to work with many talented interior designers, architects, craftspeople and other contractors. The nature of the work I do is collaborative; some of the work you see here was designed by other people and fabricated by me, some I do all the design and fabrication, and some I hand over to subcontractors who are highly skilled in their craft. This flexibility of process allows me to find the best ways to expedite jobs, work within realistic budgets and distill designs for the best function and look.

I work with a variety of clients. Some are businesses that have specific ideas about what they are looking for in regards to function and design, and some are residental clients looking to have special custom pieces made to complement their home. It is important to me to do a thorough consultation with each client. I can offer a variety of designs and drawings for each project.

Thanks for visiting my site. Feel free to consult with me on any project you have in mind.
